New York restaurant intelligence

Licensing activity, turned into sales signals.

We monitor official restaurant licensing activity, suppress obvious existing locations, review public evidence, and deliver the records that matter for your territory.

A focused 14-day founding pilot. No dashboard or long contract required.

Built from public, official records

Primary source: New York State Liquor Authority pending-licence data via New York Open Data. Every delivered signal retains source provenance and uncertainty.

Not a raw list. A screening workflow.

Pending applications are useful commercial events—but they are not all new openings. We separate the likely opportunities from known noise before delivery.

01

Monitor official changes

Track new and materially changed records in the official pending-licence source on a recurring schedule.

02

Suppress obvious existing locations

Compare normalised addresses against active licence records and remove straightforward matches from the customer-facing feed.

03

Review public operating evidence

Check public evidence for an operating venue, opening announcement, relocation, rebrand, or operator change.

04

Classify and route

Label the signal, retain its evidence and source link, then filter it to the buyer’s territory and service category.

For teams that win business before opening day.

The service is designed for companies that sell recurring or project-based services to restaurants and hospitality operators.

POS & payments

Prioritise locations where technology decisions may still be open.

01

Payroll & insurance

Find operators entering setup, hiring, and compliance stages.

02

Foodservice & beverage

Surface likely new demand and meaningful operator transitions.

03

Linen, waste & facilities

Route territory-specific opportunities to the right local team.

04
Founding validation pilot

Test the signal before buying software.

Start with a screened sample from your territory. If it looks useful, the paid pilot delivers weekday email and CSV updates for 14 days.

We are validating relevance and workflow value before building a dashboard. That keeps the test fast, focused, and inexpensive.

Useful questions.

Is every record a confirmed new restaurant?

No. A pending application is a commercial signal, not a guarantee. Records are explicitly classified as likely new/not yet open, takeover or operator change, unresolved, or excluded when evidence shows an existing venue.

Where does the information come from?

The primary source is the New York State Liquor Authority’s public pending-licence dataset through New York Open Data, supplemented by active-licence address comparison and lawful public evidence. Source links are retained.

What happens after the pilot?

If the pilot is useful, the proposed continuation is $199 per month for one territory. Continuation is optional and confirmed separately.

Do you provide personal contact information?

No. The core service provides business and licensing signals, not scraped personal contact details. Buyers must use the information lawfully and verify each record before acting.

Is NY Opening Signal part of New York State?

No. NY Opening Signal is an independent commercial research service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by New York State, the New York State Liquor Authority, or New York Open Data.

Tell us your territory and what you sell.

We’ll return five screened signals to evaluate.
